This policy explains what personal information Silly Market collects when you visit the site, place an order, sign up for email, or contact us; what we do with it; who receives it; and what you can ask us to do with it.
The site is operated by Electronic Frog LLC, 30 N GOULD ST STE N, Sheridan, Wyoming, 82801, United States. Questions about this policy go to privacy@sillymarket.com or the contact page.
This policy takes effect on the Last updated date shown above. Every earlier version is kept; if you want to read the version that applied when you placed an order, ask us and we send it.
What we collect, and where it comes from
Information you give us
When you order: your name, email address, shipping address, billing address, and the items you ordered. When you contact us: whatever you write, and the photos you attach to a claim. When you sign up for email: your email address and, if you give it, your name. When you write a review: the review text, the name you choose to show, and the rating.
Payment details
Payment details go to the payment provider, not to us. The card number is entered on a form served by our payment provider and is never stored on our systems. We receive a confirmation, the last four digits, and a transaction number.
Information the site records automatically
The server log stores the IP address, the browser type, the pages requested and the time of each request. The shop keeps a session cookie so your cart survives from page to page. Our own site analytics record which pages and products a visitor looked at, what was added to the cart, and whether the visit ended in an order, tied to a random visit identifier and not to your name or IP address.
When you choose a size, your browser remembers it on your own device, so the next product of the same kind can point it out as “Your size”. Nothing is chosen for you, and the remembered size never leaves your browser; clearing this site’s data in your browser removes it. When something goes into the cart, our analytics note which size the page pointed out, next to the size you picked.
To protect the email sign-up form from abuse, we keep a record when the form refuses a sign-up, including information about the IP address and email address used. We delete each record after 90 days.
We do not collect precise location, information from your contacts or camera, or anything about your activity on other websites.
What we use it for
- Making, shipping and tracking your order, and handling a claim or a refund.
- Answering your questions.
- Sending order confirmations and shipping notices. These are part of the order and are sent whether or not you signed up for marketing email.
- Sending marketing email, only if you ticked the box at checkout or signed up elsewhere on the site. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe takes effect immediately.
- If you signed up for email and later leave items in your cart, we save that cart with your email address in our email system, so we can send you a reminder with those items and a link that puts them back. Unsubscribing stops these reminders.
- If you subscribe to our emails, we note which products you view or add to your cart on any browser where we recognize you, including the 14 days before we recognized that browser, so our emails can show you designs you looked at. This stops, and what we noted is deleted, when you unsubscribe.
- Showing reviews on product pages, with the name you chose.
- Keeping the site working and secure: spotting abuse, fixing errors, and measuring which pages and products visitors use so that we can improve the shop.
- Keeping the records that tax and accounting law require.
We do not sell personal information. The one case where information about you goes to another company for advertising is Meta, described under Cookies and tracking across other sites.
Who receives it
We pass information to companies that do work for us, limited to what that work needs:
| Who | What they receive | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Our print partner | your name, shipping address, the items and sizes you ordered, the order number | to print and pack the order |
| The shipping carrier | your name, shipping address, and a phone number if the carrier requires one | to deliver the package |
| Our payment provider | your name, billing address and payment details, which you enter on their form | to take the payment and handle refunds and chargebacks |
| Our hosting provider | everything the site stores | to run the site |
| Our email service | your email address, name, and which emails you opened or clicked | to send order email and, if you signed up, marketing email |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram), through the Meta pixel in your browser and from our own server | the pages and products you viewed, what you added to the cart, and whether you ordered, together with a browser identifier; with an order also your name, email address, phone number if you gave one, and the city, state, postal code and country of your billing address, each one hashed before it is sent; Meta can link this to your Meta account if you have one | to measure our Meta ads and to show our ads to people who visited the site |
| Google (reCAPTCHA), on the checkout page | information about your device and browser, your IP address, and how you use the checkout page | to tell real buyers apart from automated attempts to try out stolen card numbers |
Each of these companies has its own privacy policy for the information it receives. We also disclose information when a law, a court order or a government request requires it, or when we need it to enforce our terms, investigate fraud, or protect someone’s safety. If the business is sold or merged, customer records go with it, under this policy.
Cookies and tracking across other sites
The site uses cookies for the cart and for our own site analytics. Our own analytics do not follow you to other websites.
If you sign up for our emails, order with the email box ticked, or click a link in one of our emails, a cookie lets this browser recognize you for up to a year after your last visit, so a cart you leave behind can be sent to you. It holds a random reference, not your email address. Unsubscribing ends it.
The site also carries the Meta pixel, and we send the same events a second time from our own server. Both routes report the pages and products you view, cart additions and orders. When you place an order we also send your name, email address, phone number if you gave one, and the city, state, postal code and country of your billing address. Those details are hashed first, which means Meta receives a scrambled value instead of the detail itself and uses it only to recognize that a purchase came from someone who had seen one of our ads. Meta uses all of this, under its own privacy policy, to measure our advertising and to show our ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who visited the site. This means Meta collects information about your activity on this site that it can combine with your activity elsewhere. Under some state privacy laws this counts as “sharing” personal information for advertising.
To stop it, change the ad settings in your Meta account: that covers both routes. Blocking third-party cookies in your browser stops the pixel but not what we send from our server, so on its own it is not enough.
The checkout page also runs Google reCAPTCHA. Google runs this check for us: it looks at your device, your browser, your IP address and how you use the page, to tell real buyers apart from automated attempts to try out stolen card numbers, and it stores a cookie in your browser for that check. It is a security check, not advertising or analytics.
We run no other advertising or analytics service from outside companies at the Last updated date above. If we add one, we update this section and the Who receives it table before it goes live.
Your browser’s Do Not Track setting: the site does not change what it sends to Meta in response to it. Use the Meta ad settings route above instead.
How long we keep it
- Orders, invoices and refund records: 7 years after the order, for tax and accounting.
- Support email and claim photos: 2 years after the last message.
- Marketing list: until you unsubscribe, then only the unsubscribe itself, so that we do not email you again.
- Server logs: 30 days.
- Refused email sign-ups: 90 days.
- Site analytics: the random visit identifier is not linked to you; we keep the aggregated counts indefinitely.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you and send you a copy,
- correct it,
- delete it, except for the order records that tax law requires us to keep,
- stop sending you marketing email.
Email privacy@sillymarket.com or use the contact page. We confirm the request within 10 business days and complete it within 45 days. Before we release or delete anything we check that the request comes from you, usually by asking you to confirm from the email address on the order. You can also have someone make the request for you if they show that you authorized them.
We honor these requests from everyone, not only from people who live in a state whose law requires it. We do not treat you differently for making one.
Children
The site is for adults and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email privacy@sillymarket.com and we delete it.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection, payment details never touch our systems, and access to customer records is limited to the people who handle orders. If a breach affects your information we notify you, and where the law requires it the authorities, as soon as we know what happened.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the Last updated date at the top and keep the earlier version.
